The waves hitting against my heart!

The ocean represents my heritage. I am Polynesian and it reminds me of the people who helped shaped my life. The rocks stand for the trial and tribulations I have faced and will face. But the waves represent the fact that I will surpass those tough times and move on. The sand stands for the family that is always there to catch me when I fall. This picture expresses one of my favorite hobbies which is photography. When someone captures a moment in time it just takes you there and allures your senses. The beach is where my grandmother taught me to surf and play volleyball. But also it is where we spread my grandmothers ashes. The thing I want people to look at is the colors. They are the real story tellers. It tells the reader the mood of the place and how beautiful raw nature is. The reader may think that the author is looking for or has already found serenity or a great place to surf or just found home. The author my just be home sick and just might want to go home. I have the text on the right and the picture on the left because while the reader is reading they can look at the picture and gaze. Also, the picture can stand by itself; it gets confusing when the text is wrapped around the photo. The text is complimentary to the photo and vice versa because they are enhancing the colors of the photo. I like to look at the picture and then read the text and periodically glance at the photo. I could get lost in the picture.
